Overview

This policy explains what information Frennd collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Frennd is a social lodging platform built around trusted circles, so protecting your information — and controlling who in your network can see it — is central to how the product works.

Information you provide

When you sign up and use Frennd, you give us information such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth (used to show your age, never the date itself), gender, profile photo, bio, and — if you host — your listings, photos, addresses, availability, and accepted payment methods. You also create content such as messages and booking requests. Your phone number is kept private — it is never shown on your profile or to other members.

Information we collect automatically

Like most online services, we collect basic technical information needed to run and secure Frennd, including your IP address and basic device/browser information, captured in request and security logs by the providers we run on: our host, Vercel (request logs), our authentication provider, Supabase (authentication and security logs), and Cloudflare Turnstile (a bot check on the contact form). We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We aim to keep non-essential tracking to a minimum.

How your social graph controls visibility

Frennd only shows your information to the people your settings allow: your direct friends and, where you choose, friends-of-friends. Sensitive details — a listing's exact address and payment handle — are only revealed to a guest once a booking is confirmed. These rules are enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the interface.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate Frennd: to run the social graph and visibility rules, to power search and suggestions, to enable messaging and bookings, to process membership billing, to keep the platform safe, and to contact you about your account or activity.

How we share information

We share information with other members only as your visibility settings allow — your phone number is never shared with other members. We share information with service providers who help us run Frennd — for example our hosting provider (Vercel), our database and authentication provider (Supabase), our payment processor (Stripe), our email provider, mapping services, and Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection) — who may only use it to provide their service to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of members. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update your profile at any time, and you can delete your account, which removes your profile and associated content and photos. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us to make a request. Email notifications about new messages, friend requests, and bookings are optional — you can turn any of them off anytime from your notification settings, or via the unsubscribe link in the email itself.

Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Frennd is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let members know.
